PBF – Wild Swimming
Pool Bridge Farm - The Place of Dreams
We’d been meaning to visit Pool Bridge Farm for a while, and now that we finally have, we can’t believe we waited so long. From the moment you arrive, there’s a sense of peace and escape that instantly makes you feel at home. The farm boasts a stunning collection of four lakes, each offering its own charm for wild swimming. Whether you’re after a refreshing early-morning dip or a gentle float under the sky, there’s something here for everyone. One of the lakes is even home to a selection of beautifully crafted, pre-bookable saunas, perfect for warming up, unwinding, and soaking in the natural surroundings after your swim. It’s a place where time slows down and you can truly reconnect with nature and yourself.
While there is a small campsite for vans on Pool Bridge Farm itself, set in a picturesque spot overlooking one of the lakes, it offers a more basic, off-grid experience. Facilities are limited, with no electrical hook-ups or waste disposal, and generators are not permitted. For those with larger vehicles or anyone looking for additional amenities such as electricity, Crockey Hill Campsite—just down the road and part of the Caravan & Motorhome Club—could be a more suitable option. We’ve attached a list of Facilities here for Crockey Hill Campsite but, as always, we recommend checking their website for the most up-to-date information and pricing.
- Spacious Pitches

- Grey & Waste Water Disposal Points
- Quiet - Rural Setting
We booked in for a sauna and swim session, which lasted 55 minutes, and it was absolutely dreamy. From start to finish, it felt like the perfect escape. An ideal way to unwind at the end of the day (or even a refreshing way to start the morning!) The combination of cold-water followed by the heat of the sauna left us feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. The setting was peaceful and beautifully maintained. All the staff members were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer any questions we had, which made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. It’s clear they genuinely care about creating a warm, supportive atmosphere for everyone who visits. We’ve already booked in again for next week!

The Lakes At Pool Bridge Farm
is a tranquil lake with the lake and lakeside to be used for activities such as relaxing, reading, meditating or chatting quietly with a friend. The 200m long lake, situated just through the open changing area, takes its name from Claude Monet, the French impressionist painter, due to the large lily pads that run down the centre of the lake. Steps provide easy access to this stunning lake with its large grass banks providing plenty of room to relax after a swim.
is the family lake and a favourite of the early-morning swimmers too. The 7-acre lake offers big horizons, abundant wildlife and stunning scenery, along with jetties and ramps at entry points for lots of fun this Summer. This is the lake to head to if you have children with you or are coming as a large group. The laughter from this lake as the water warms up fills the air on warm spring days and those scorching summer days we are all hoping for. The Q lake is also where you can paddleboard or use your inflatable kayaks. They don’t hire boards out so you need to bring your own and a 2-hour timeslot needs to be pre-booked. See their website for more info.
M Lake, gently shaped like the letter ‘M’, offers a scenic walk of around 500 metres, depending on your chosen path. Nestled along its peaceful edges, are all the saunas providing a unique spot to relax and unwind. The surrounding decking areas are designed as tranquil zones—perfect for soaking in the calm and reconnecting with nature.
with its 300m circuit, is a favourite for many of the regular swimmers. This lake tends to be quite peaceful, however lots of swimmers use this lake for exercise and training. The lake can be found to the left of the track heading to the Meadows campsite.
